We’ve carefully selected a range of challenges from our qualifications, programmes and courses, all with themes relevant to this time of year. Here are the 10 festive gifts from ASDAN:

  1. Festive arts and crafts

  1. Alone time and loneliness

  1. Preparing for a journey

  1. Helping others

  1. Planning a winter walk

  1. Seasonal kitchen crafts

  1. Looking after pets

  1. Religious festivals

  1. Festive knitwear

The calendar includes challenges and activities drawn from the following ASDAN courses:

Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) Levels 1 and 2 – a nationally regulated qualification that develops personal and social skills for learners aged 14-16.

Personal Development Programmes (PDP) – programmes that develop core skills through practical challenges for learners aged 13+.

Short Courses – more than 30 topic-based courses that develop skills for learners aged 13+. Including Animal Care and Beliefs and Values.

Moving On – a programme to equip young people aged 16+ with the knowledge and skills they need to ‘move on’ to living independently, including those who are leaving care.

Towards Independence – 88 modules to accredit personal, social, work-related and independent living skills for learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 14+ and adults.

Lifeskills Challenge – an online bank of challenges for learners working from pre-Entry to Level 3, based around practical activities and skills development.

Our festive resources are designed to develop ASDAN’s six core skills:

  1. Learning

  1. Communication

  1. Decision making

  1. Thinking

  1. Team working

  1. Self-awareness and wellbeing

These transferable skills are essential in all areas of life, education, and work.

We encourage parents, teachers, carers, and trusted adults to join in - bring out the tinsel and immerse yourself in the fun!

Each resource includes a festive illustration, hand-drawn by our very own Head Elf, Development and Design Manager Jemma Davies.

We’d love to see the work learners create using these 10 gifts - please share your festivities with us!

We hope you have a wonderful, warm festive season and that our advent activities help to spread a little joy.

Best wishes,

The ASDAN team
